Our daughter, Ellie Grace, was born 3/4/2015 and spent her first 4 months of life in the NICU and stable vent unit in the hospital. Ellie has low muscle tone and we don't know why. She is on a ventilator to help her breathe and eats most of her meals via a tube that goes directly into her stomach. She's already had two surgeries in her short little life, one for a tracheostomy and one for a G-tube. She's changed our lives and made us better people.
This blog serves to keep family and friends updated and to give me an outlet to share our experience raising a child with special needs. I hope our story can inspire you to be happy and comfort you when life is hard.
Our friends, family and, community have given us strength and support to be the best parents we possibly can. It takes a village to raise a child. We know this for sure! We love our village. Thank you!
